Cristian Boffelli

Bergamo, Tokyo

1972 – Born in Vaprio d’Adda (MI), Italy
1991 – Liceo Artistico Statale di Bergamo
1996 – Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera Milano

The theme that I constantly pursue is the “figures” of animals and human beings, or so to say, the very form of living creatures. These “figures” continue to change shape, twist and become almost indistinguishable, and finally result in regaining a mysteriously familiar appearance. My preferred medium of expression is a black line. I use a single determined line to build a closed shape inside a neutral space. The reason I started in this field of art and have continued down the road for many years is because I want to see where this theme will ultimately lead me. So in other words, it’s more like a fun experiment for me.
